Are Emotions Ruling your House?

I was reviewing some notes that I had written down from a ladies
meeting that I attended, where the topic was being "Response-able".
Too many times the emotions that I am experiencing rule my house-hold,
how many times can you remember waking up in a horrible mood, and
before mid-morning your kids are in a tizzy too. We are told in
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds
on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit,
the things of the Spirit. Ladies.......we have the power to choose to
walk after the Spirit....we have the power to choose whether we are
ruled by our emotions or by God!!
The battles that we fight with our families and our friends are
too often battles that are totally unnecessary battles, too often,
and I am speaking of myself here, we rise up in anger quickly, start
a huge battle...only to realize it was unnecessary. Proverbs 15:1 "A
soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger." Often
I find that my moods are determined by my lack of refreshing in the
Word and that is my fault, it is my responsibility to refresh my mind
daily in the Word of God. Too many times it is easy to get busy, to
forget, or to sometimes just not want to read the Word, these are times
we need to press on in. Take the time. I can guarantee that time in
the Word always pays off.
The very next time your house is in a "funk", sit down, take stock, go
to the source, was this 'funk' caused by your emotions taking over.
If you find that your emotions are ruling your household, spend
some time in the Word. Phillipians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatever
things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things
and or good report, if there is any viture and if there is anything
praiseworthy-meditate on these things.
Take some time today to meditate on the pure, lovely, noble true, and
good things of God. ~Cindy~

Wifely Duties OH MY!

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands,
as unto the Lord.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even
as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour
of the body.

Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ,
so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also
loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular
so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that
she reverence [her] husband.

Oh man......what a subject to pick...well this is a subject that has
been on my heart for a couple of weeks, and I know that this is not
a popular subject among feminists......but truth be known it is even
unpopular among the "church" the body of believers.
For too long the church has been letting the influences of the world,
slip in, and changing the ways of the church. This is so sad, we should
as a church be changing the ways of the world.....but we sit back and
do nothing to do so......OH no a whole other subject.
ON to the duties and relationship of a marriage. The verses above are
very clear that we are to be submissive to our husbands...and thing is
there is not one place that mentions, we are to only submit if our
husbands are Christians or if we think they are doing a good job, we
are to be subject to our husbands in every thing. I am a people
watcher I can go to the mall and spend hours watching people, and I
have observed, over and over, that we are not seeing this principle.
Ladies we are not even seeing this in our churches. God set up a order
of life, and if we are operating under the order that God sets up, then
we are to be commended....but too often our own agenda is how our lives
operate.
I think that the problems of the family could all be traced back to the
fact that as a whole we have all gotten away from the Biblical
principles of marriage. Oh I can hear it now........"Well those verses
say that my husband is to love me as Christ loved the church"...."and
my husband doesn't love me like that, so I am not bound by those verses."
This has been a popular view......but that last verse...vs 33 says we
are to reverence our husbands.... it does not say reverence him if he is
loving you as he should.....Ladies....just a observation here, I truly
believe if we are reverencing our husbands and submitting to him as we
are instructed, then it will be natural for our husbands to love us with
that love that these verses described. I feel like if we take more time
to study the order of the family given to us in the Bible that we will
see more family harmony and unity.
So my challenge for this week is this.........bite your tongue...submit,
give your hubby the reverence the Bible instructs us to. Oh I know this
will be hard for all of us, myself especially.....but LADIES we have
to get back to the plan GOD designed for the family......
Blessings and Encouragement
